This list is referenced by the Company Technologies section of the Substantial, Inc. Master Services Agreement (the "MSA"). It identifies proprietary technologies developed and owned by Company. Company may update this list from time to time.

Substantial Brain

A hosted knowledge platform that consolidates an organization's documents, meeting records, and working knowledge into a single searchable store usable by both people and AI agents. Components:

  • Ingestion and connectors — a synchronization engine and provider adapters that import content from third-party systems on a recurring schedule, retaining version history and source provenance. Current adapters cover meeting-notes, cloud-storage, and workspace-document providers.
  • Content model — workspaces, notes, files, and wiki pages, with per-user and per-team visibility controls, pinning, version history, and recoverable archival.
  • Retrieval — full-text search across notes, files, wiki pages, and comments, with relevance ranking and source citation.
  • Agent interface — a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and shared tool registry permitting authorized third-party AI clients to read from and write to the platform, subject to the same visibility rules as the authenticated user.
  • Assistant — in-application chat that answers questions grounded in the organization's own content with citations, and that proposes content changes for human approval rather than applying them automatically.
  • Structured records — person, organization, deal, and task records linked to the source documents that evidence them.
  • Collaboration — comment threads attached to documents, recording both the authoring user and any agent involvement.
  • Content quality pipeline — automated passes proposing redaction of sensitive passages and correction of machine-transcription errors, each requiring human review before taking effect.
  • Administration and reporting — authentication and single sign-on, revocable access tokens, activity logging, and usage and performance reporting.
  • Job infrastructure — durable queue-based background execution supporting the above.
