Intern season is in full swing, with Substantial bringing on two new interns for the summer! We’ve never advertised an “official” internship program, opting instead to hire interns on a case by case basis, determined by their own talents/interests and how those overlap with what we feel they could learn with us. We’re always excited to help these students kickstart their careers. Without further ado, we’re happy to introduce Julie and Rebecca!
Julie Culture and Communications Intern
School/Year University of Denver 2014
Studying Communications and Marketing
Julie comes to us as a rising senior from the University of Denver, where she is pursuing a career in digital advertising. Having been raised in the Greater Seattle area, she is excited to back in the Pacific Northwest for a summer with Substantial as Culture and Communications Intern. When she’s not writing copy, planning events, or researching at Substantial, she can be found jogging through the streets of Seattle, blasting electronic music through her headphones, or partaking in lengthy ‘Breaking Bad’ marathons.
Rebecca Graphic Design Intern
School/Year Rhode Island School of Design 2014
Studying Graphic Design
Rebecca will be finishing up her studies in graphic design next year at the Rhode Island School of Design. A lover of the West Coast, Rebecca is excited to be in Seattle for a summer with Substantial as the Graphic Design Intern where she’ll be working on some awesome projects with the design team. Outside of Substantial, she’s probably enjoying the Pacific Northwestern outdoors, learning how to play the ukulele, or running her online stationary store, Periwinkle Paperie.
