We’re excited about the new year so for the month of January we’re posting a series of all manner of things that motivate and inspire us.

Greg Brown at Gotham Ruby Conference 2009 at PACE University

Today's entry comes to us from Pete, who, in contrast to many of the entries about how they got started with programming, describes a current resource creating the next crop of developers.
Before the current crop of "Ruby bootcamp" style training, Greg Brown quit his consulting practice to reinvent education, starting with teaching programming (Ruby specifically) to newcomers. The result is Mendicant University, a group dedicated to education, helping each other succeed, blah blah blah, and all kinds of hippie stuff.
