We’re excited about the new year so for the month of January we’re posting a series of all manner of things that motivate and inspire us.
Today's entry is a blast from the past, courtesy of Franklin. It's the book BASIC Computer Games by David H. Ahl, according to Wikipedia the first computer book to reach a million in sales. It was a collection of games that the user could type in and run. It's safe to say that Franklin isn't the only developer that got their first taste of code this way.
If you want to fully immerse yourself in this trip down memory lane, you can find BASIC Computer Games online and in PDF format. It's not hard to find yourself a BASIC interpreter, so you can spend hours typing these games in and hoping you avoid typos just like you did back in the day!
